During its investigation, researchers at Which? teamed up with United states security practiced Paul Marrapese to purchase cameras made past Accfly, Elite Security, Genbolt, ieGeek and SV3C through Amazon. The researchers constitute them piece of cake to hack remotely.

While the researchers tested v models for this investigation, they gauge that 47 wireless camera brands may take this vulnerability, due to shared components and software.

Some of the afflicted brands include Alptop, Besdersec, COOAU, CPVAN, Ctronics, Dericam, Jennov, LEFTEK, Luowice, QZT and Tenvis. Whatever wireless camera that interfaces with the CamHi mobile app and has a certain type of unique identification number (UID), the researchers say, could be compromised.

Marrapese explained on his website that the UID should be printed on a sticker or label affixed to the photographic camera, often aslope the administrative username and password. On his website, he listed more than than 100 UID prefixes that indicated a device might be vulnerable.
